Peeyush Ranjan is Vice President of Engineering at Google, leading the Payments organization as well as the Next Billion Users initiative for the company. Peeyush has also led various engineering teams in Google’s Mobile, Enterprise, and Search efforts. Before Google, Peeyush worked as VP of Infrastructure at Airbnb and CTO at Flipkart.

Peeyush holds degrees in Computer Science from IIT Kharagpur and Purdue University and MBA from the University of Washington.


The COVID-19 pandemic has triggered a boom in digital payments globally. New players are competing with established financial institutions. The efficiency and accessibility of digital wallets threatens to make conventional credit and debit cards obsolete. The future of fiat money itself is in jeopardy due to the emergence of cryptocurrencies and blockchain. Yet cybersecurity lags far behind the adoption of new digital tools.
